Recognized by sight: found growing on pathways in hard wood forrest
Used references: Mushrooexpert.com
  darv   55% (1)
Recognized by sight: Cantharellus lateritius is suppose to have a smooth hymenium and this one looks like it has wrinkled folds.
  shroomydan   53% (1)
Recognized by sight: I’d call those ordinary chanterelles, Cantharellus cibarius.
  amanitarita   79% (1)   Eyes
Recognized by sight: As Darv pointed out, lateritius has smooth or vaguely ribbed hymenium; appalachiensis has a brownish cap and a yellow stipe with a white base; “americanus” is the new name (in publication) for the “ordinary” Eastern chanterelle.
