Notes: This is a lactarius, it produces white milk.
However, I’m not sure which variety of lactarius this is.
Found on ground in groups, some were clustered together very close to dead log, oak and relatively young pine tree nearby.
Yes, white milk (not watery) was produced on a few of the specimens when the gills were cut. The milk didn’t change color. Unfortunately, the photos don’t show the milk.
