Observation 105177: Amanita jacksonii Pomerleau
When: 2012-08-12
Herbarium specimen reported

Notes: I really think this is jacksonii… However, I do realize there are other names that are possible for this large reddish caesar.

Mixed hardwoods. Near the bottom of a fairly steep slope that bottoms out by a swampy area.

The actual color of the caps was much more vividly red than these low-light photos show.

This material is confirmed as A. jacksonii by Santiago Sanchez’s molecular…

This is accessioned. A sample will go to the section Caesareae studies project.

The colors were brighter to the eye.

It was getting to be late in the day, and lighting was a challenge.

I think it is just a little faded.
