Observation: Dendrographa alectoroides Sundin & Tehler (13476)
About Dendrographa alectoroides Sundin & Tehler
When: 2007-02-25
Collection location: Point Lobos State Park, Monterey Co., California, USA [Click for map]
Who: Jason Hollinger (jason)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This is one of the northern-most locations to find this lichen. (It has also been found at Pt. Reyes.) I’ve been looking around on the web to see which species it is here, but can’t tell for sure. There’s a good discussion in this CALS bulletin, from which I conclude that it is probably D. minor which is now called D. alectoroides. I would need to check microscopic details to be sure, I guess.

These were photographed on Pinus radiata on Cypress Point in Point Lobos State Park.
