I have just received a good quality nrITS sequence from this material, Christian.

It is completely conformant with all all sequences we have for pruittii.

Thanks again for the partial collection and the image. I just added the image to the nearly complete paper.

Very best,

Thanks for confirming the correct date, Christian.

For the record, this collection was sent to me by Christina (in part). The collection was successfully sequenced for the proposed fungal barcode (nrITS), which has been identical from all material of pruittii that has been sequenced…including the original 1976 collection made by Benjamin Pruitt and sent to Alexander Smith. Sequencing of the latter was generously provided by Dr. József Geml and Tatiana Semenova. The sequencing of Christian’s collection was generously provided by Dr. Thomas Bruns and Nhu Nguyen.

The Pruitt collection, from Lane County, Oregon, will soon be designated as the holotype of pruittii. The paper validating the name and providing a thorough morphological description, the GenBank accession numbers of sequences, etc. is in (what I hope are) the final stages of peer review at the moment.

Also, Christian, thanks for sending the material back in 2011 and providing an image of the collection here.

Very best,

Thank you, Christian.

Is this one of the collections about which you wrote to me?

Very best,
