Observation 171940: Ganoderma oregonense Murrill

Transplanted stem butts of G.tsugae(collected deep in the Olympic peninsula rainforests near Mora, WA) were bored into the pith of this fallen hemlock(using the hook side of a hammer) during summer of 2011. We started collecting and drying these last summer when first noted flushes occurred all over the previously un-infected tree.

G. tsugae always fruits much earlier in our region-mid July, than do the G.oregonense(which begin fruiting in early to mid August)5 years of obs and collections of both species.

Temp: Low to mid 80’s humid.
