First, I’ll echo Doug’s comment about the great photo! Any chance you have a photo that inludes the pine cone, it would be interesting see what the cone looks like. This also seems like something that it would be worth having an herbarium specimen of. I’ve always been curious whether the ones growing on different types of cones are really all the same species.

Ok, I have to say, that first photo there, wow nice photo. I’ve tried to photo these before, and it is hard being so small, and hard to decide what part should be in focus, with such a narrow focal range. But with the light behind like that, and it forms a halo, the teeth being bright at the tips, and going to dark in betweenm and each tooth in focus. Hard to see how to get a better photo of this one, nice -
