Notes: The largest of these mushrooms is about three inches in diameter. The bulbous primordia at the base of the stem and yellow bruising are distinctive. The most distinguishing feature of these mushrooms is their smell. The caps smell very sweet, like candy. The smell reminds me of rootbeer flavored Bottle Caps. The stems do not smell so sweet. They remind me of the smell of some electronic components.
The mushrooms were growing in thick leaf littler under mixed hardwoods.
