Notes: Very lightweight basidiocarps, punky is dead on, but the flesh of the young one on the left below is very dark red-brown, not white.

they were always there, just overlooked. I saw Ganoderma colossus listed from Florida in a study from several decades ago. Far more weird is what the heck is Ganoderma weberianum doing in Florida?

Ganoderma colossus

Is the old name, apparently phylogenetic evidence places it cleanly outside the Ganoderma genus, though it is its closest relative. The spores are much larger than in Ganoderma though they have the same structure. The chlamydospores are of a different form than that typically found in the other Ganoderma.

There is also a Tomophagus cattiensis in Vietnam if I recall correctly.
