cortina remnants and rusty brown spore drop caught in them.

other equally mature examples of other OZ corts should also show this.

was the “dark brown color” that you referred to in your other recent shot the same bright rusty brown as this one? if so, it was a cort. if not, then not.

also, check younger examples from the same collection. cortinas should still be partially in place, like in this example:
