Observation 306006: Trametopsis cervina (Schwein.) Tomšovský

When: 2017-12-04

Collection location: Pine Level, Alabama, USA [Click for map]

32.4789° -86.481° 104m

Who: Casandra Coburn (MorningAnew)

No specimen available

I was also thinking Pycnoporellus looked correct for but was looking at P. fulgens.
There were 2 suggestions recommending this species and by inspection it does feel good.
A third party had suggested Spongipellis pachyodon, but I do feel better about Pycnoporellus for this.

I remember it having been mentioned before.
Thank you for correcting it.

I think there’s some more photos that I didn’t see or maybe overlooked last time you posted these on fb. I think this is actually Trametopsis cervina and not Pycnoporellus alboluteus although it does rarely occur in the east and still could be a possibility (maybe?) Hopefully some new eyes will see this and work it out a little better.
