Notes: Found this first specimen of an Amanita that seems to belong in section Vaginatae. It doesn’t look like anything I could find in the literature. It was growing in primarily spruce habitant, and has non-amyloid, almost globose spores. It doesn’t quite appear to fall in the catagory of “white taxa of the Vaginatae”. About 50 yards away I found another similar specimen growing in a line with what I would call typical west coast gray Amanita vaginatas. I’m posting that one on a separate Observation.
