Summary: Thank you

Thanks for the comments. Without microscopy I am stuck here. That is Tim Baroni digging the truffle up by the way.

Summary: Agree with C. capitata

Now that I have my books with me and I’m not just going off a search for ‘Cordyceps Elaphomyces’, I agree with Darvin, that what I meant was Cordyceps capitata (or C. longisegmentis).

Summary: Cordyceps capitata on Elaphomyces muricatus

The Cordyceps is either C. capitata or C. longisegmentis. They look the same with C. longisegmentis having double the length of the spores. The truffle shows a marbled peridium and is Elaphomyces muricatus.
