No herbarium specimen
Notes: 10/18: Ha! Returned and noticed a douglas fir about 2 feet away. Found that they were fruiting on a small, buried cone. Yellowish hairs at the base of the stipe and strange knobs or are they rings on some of the stipes.
Fruiting on wood (madrone, oak, bay present). The stipe is either hairy or scaly—hard to determine which with the amount of magnification I was carrying. The youngsters seem to have stipes off center. Gills appear to be free, but without yanking one up it was hard to be sure.
Largest is 1cm across, 2cm tall.
