Notes: Ok, apologies to Nathan about this one. He found these, and brought them into the Fungus Fed. meeting in Santa Cruz on Wed., and then I took them. Here is a photo, and I’ve dried them, and will try to get some micro-details on Monday. But I don’t know where they were found, you’ll have to ask Nathan. And this is really his observation, and I’ve gone and scooped him, I’m such a bad guy.
But I did a spore print, and pretty “brown” brown. There is a fiberous veil on the young ones, and the older ones have slight veil remenants on the upper stipe. I have a copy of A. Smith Veiled Heboloma of the Wester US (With alomst 120 species!), which I think it also avalible on line. Althought this monograph did most of its study in CO, not CA, so who knows here…
But if I get time (yeah right), I’ll see what I can do with these.
