Summary: Might be dry
Lactarius species when old and/or dry can stop producing latex. But otherwise these do look a lot like Lactarius. But the only way to be sure is to see if the spores have amyloid ornamentation, and the lamellae trama lack spherocysts, while the pileus trama has spherocysts. (Sorry, couldn’t resist, since that is the def. of the genus lactarius…)

Does not appear to be a Lactarius species – no milky secretion when when specimen was dissected (see image 7659).

Summary: Lactarius sp.?
The stature is right and I think I see a milky droplet in the gills. Don’t know the species in Georgia, so I can’t give a species name.
