Recognized by sight: Extremely scaly stipe base, pyramidal warts, double ring. No particular smell.

Recognized by sight: Deciduous pyramidal warts on cap, double partial veils attached at thickened margin, scaly bulb and stipe base all suggest A. cokeri. Having dried in situ, I doubt that the spores will be of “normal” size. If that were true then having the collection in hand might not be helpful in this case.

Summary: There are not to many species in section Lepidella that occasionally have a double ring.

Patrick, somehow I missed this one. Thank you for drawing my attention to this observation.

I’d say that there is a good probability (among the taxa that I know from the SE USA) that this is A. cokeri. Let’s give it cokeri with a question mark.

R.
