Summary: Chlorophyllum…

I guess I’m just used to the ones I see just about every week when I’m in Los Angeles. But those always get mown down before they reach the age of this group! But now that you mention it…

Summary: Chlorophyllum…

Well this looks an awful lot like Chlorophyllum molybdites… I am not very familiar with this fungus since it doesn’t grow in my area but it does look a lot like the molybdites that i found in Ashville NC a few years back… I am not sure why you couldn’t get a spore print but if the gills develop a strong dingy color with a little olive you can probably assume the spores are going to be somewhat green… If you had a microscope it would be pretty easy to tell… but that isn’t always an option… I guess you could also try eating some and see if you get sick :-P
Hope that helps a little…
