Observation: Prunulus purus (Pers.) Murrill (4969)

When: 2007-11-16
Collection location: Howarth Park, Santa Rosa, Sonoma Co., California, USA [Click for map]
Who: Debbie Drechsler (debdrex)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: These were seen in several spots on this walk. It took me a while to figure out that they were all the same species as they’re rather variable looking. Only one was purple. The rest were mostly brownish with hints of purple in the stipe. Appear to be terrestrial and associated with oak, douglas fir, bay.
