Notes: avg-sized to small mushroom, small clusters on v rotten hardwood log in moist hardwood forest, standard fungal odor
ST: 30×2-2.5mm, even, curved, dark brown to slightly paler near top, smooth, dry, striate from innate fibers, conspicuously white cottony at base, flesh v dark, solid to hollow at v base, dirt sticking at base making it look bulbous
CAP: to 30mm wide, v broadly convex to almost flat, dark brown to light brown right at margin, smooth, dry, translucent striate for outer 5mm, margin v thin, hygraphanous (fading to pale yellowish brown)
FLESH: thinw (maybe ~1mm thick), brown, fragile, soft
VEIL: none
GILL: dirty brown to yellowish brown, adnate to v slightly decurrent, unbranched, somewhat wavy, ~2mm deep
SPORE: print rich brown (but scanty)

Nondescript brown spore print makes keying difficult for me as usual, but this seems clearly to belong to Arora’s “Galerina, Tubaria, and allies” grouping. Apparently the quintessential LBM. How exciting to get the real deal for a change! No more imitation LBMs for me…
