Observation: Pycnoporus sanguineus (5406)

When: 2007-12-07
Collection location: Buttonwood, south Key Largo, Monroe Co., Florida, USA [Click for map]
Who: Jason Hollinger (jason)
Herbarium specimen available

Species Lists:
Mushrooms of Key Largo (39)

Notes: IDed by sight. (The photo is from December 26, 2006, also from Key Largo, since the one I saw today was in terrible shape.)

I found some better ones today (20071210). Also, I noticed that there are two species, P. cinnabarinus and P. sanguineus. Apparently the latter is more tropical and thinner. As mine is both, I’m moving it.
