I’ve never id’d either T. portentosum or T. pardinum before. According to Arora, T. pardinum has mealy odor, but these mushroom didn’t have it, even when crushed. (The taste was farinaceous, though.) The caps are not clearly viscid, though there is some debris stuck to them, so I was not sure about this characteristic. It was a wet day when I collected.
There seems to be a difference in spore sizes, which I can try to check when I get a chance. If there is anything else to look, please let me know.
