Damon, P. chrysorhiza is in Bessette p 401 and p. 437. Also it’s on Tom Volk’s fungi of the month http://botit.botany.wisc.edu/toms_fungi/may97.html. But your specimen doesn’t seem to have the rhizomorphs. -Jason

How were you able to get such steady photos?

test and it came up red/brown. So i will look in that family, i suppose there are others to consider. The OB you have here looks like such larger spines, and as you said consistent with apple orchards. Just for future reference, i have see mycoacia uda several times, but it tiny… maybe im confusing it with something else?

Sarcodontia setosa, Mycoacia uda, or one of their close relatives. They probably both belong in Phlebia anyway. Hard to tell without microscopy, although Sarcodontia does turn red with a drop of KOH
