Notes: small shelf mushroom scattered in large group on semi-rotten pigeon plum? log ST: lateral, stubby or nonexistent, white fuzzy CAP: ~15mm round in outline, v broadly convex, marg curled under, bright pale orangish yellowish, thinly white fibrillose, soft and flabby VEIL: none GILL: whitish to creamy, close, radiate from stem, adnate, 2-3mm deep
I have failed repeatedly to get a spore print of this one since it decomposes so rapidly. Normally one can see dark spores on such clean white gills even just using a handlens, so I’m assuming it must have whitish or at least pale spores.
I thought Pleutotopsis longinqua looked promising, but it only occurs in the NW.
