Observation: Psathyrella sp. (6035)

When: 2008-01-13
Seen at: Santa Cruz Fungus Fair, Santa Cruz, Santa Cruz Co., California, USA [Click for map]
Who: (CureCat)
Herbarium specimen available

Notes: These Psathyrella were brought into the Santa Cruz Fungus Fair on Sunday.

Stature is consistent with P. gracilis. The strikingly corrugated pileus is what is baffling.
The only two documented species of Psathyrella with this sort of corrugation are P. deliniata and P. rugocephala, however both species are far too robust (particularly with a short and thick stipe) compared to this collection which is fragile and slender.
Any ideas?
