Observation: Sarcoscypha coccinea (Jacq.) Sacc. (6204)

When: 2008-01-20
Seen at: SOMA Camp, Occidental, Sonoma Co., California, USA [Click for map]
Who: Nathan Wilson (nathan)
No herbarium specimen

Notes: Identified by sight. Mike Wood mentioned that there are now several distinct species of bright red cups recognized. I didn’t attempt to take the id any further. These were growing from a stick and are clearly stalked as can been seen in the third image.
