The habit is not applanate. Brown spores is interesting. Sounds like Ganoderma, but I doubt it’s a common species. Can you get a photo of the spores at 1000X?

Not old growth (Suburban dog park), hymenium not cheesy but still very fresh and bruisable (INSTANT brown). Conk is covered in brown spores, as is very typical of G. applanatum. 4-5 separate fruiting bodies within two meters of log.
