An unusual grisette sp.: “hen’s egg brown” cap color, exannulate, pseudo-skirt, smooth below “skirt”, hollow
stipe, “tallow candle” aspect to stipe.

The translucence of the stipe was apparent in hand.

Summary: Interesting stipe

When I’ve seen this species it was easy to understand why it has the common name of ‘Candlestick Amanita’ since the stipe has a slight translucence like a candle. In these shots I don’t see that translucence. However, based on the stuff stuck to the cap it looks like it had been dry for while.
