Notes: These came into the id table at the Santa Cruz fungus fair, and they were pretty confusing at the time. The caps are brick-red, and the gills bright white, with serate edges. We got to the fact that they are Rhodocollybia, but that was about it.
Later, poking around Mykoweb, there was a discription of this species R. badiialba, and some photos, and that suggested this id.
I believe I dried these and kept them.

Summary: Check the spores!
The overall appearance, especially the gill edges, leads me to R. badiialaba. But check the spores, all of the local similar species that I know have elliptical spores. R. badiiabla has globose (or sub-globose) spores!
