Observation: Coprinopsis lagopus (Fr.) Redhead, Vilgalys & Moncalvo (7178)
About Coprinopsis lagopus (Fr.) Redhead, Vilgalys & Moncalvo
Public Description (default) [Edit]
When: 2007-11-18
Collection location: Redwood Valley, Mendocino Co., California, USA [Click for map]
Who: hotash
No herbarium specimen

Notes: This fungi was found growing in very deep Madrone leaf duff at around 1900ft + elevation in Redwood Valley.

It was a solo fungi located near a well established, but not used often, road cut

I accidentally broke it while trying to get a photo so took advantage to get some macro shots and then left it in the same location it was found. I hope it will come back…

This one looked very much like the same one I found in the valley floor growing in sandy dirt and green grass near the Russian River.

For all photos I have of this fungi visit
