Recognized by sight: This is the slender streambank morel found in the San Bernardinos. I know that the nomenclature for Morchella is messed up, so I’m using this name for this population until there’s is more clarity. It is certainly possible that these are the same as the M. elata that grow as “naturals” in the same general area, but they are consistently different in the two habitats.
