Summary: probably psychoactive

This is likely to be the psychoactive version of G. spectabilis, but its hard to tell without looking for green stains near the base of the stem. Even some without green stains are psychoactive. It seems to be true that the west coast version is inactive while the specimens found in the south and east US and most of the world are active. It doesn’t help that there are many species which look alike and they all have a bitter taste which deters mycophagists.

Summary: which one?

Is this the bitter yet psychoactive version from Asia? As opposed to the bitter with no upside version from the West Coast?
