Recognized by sight: C. aeruginosa is typically smaller than than C. aeruginascens, with a typically central stipe rather than eccentric stipe
Used references: Ramanurthi, C.S., Korf, R.P. & Batra, L.R. (1957). A revision of the North American species of Chlorociboria (Scerotiniaceae). Mycologia 49(6): 854-863.
Based on microscopic features: Chlorociboria aeruginosa spores are 9-15 X 1.4-2.8 µm versus 5-8 X 0.7-2.8 µm for Chlorociboria aeruginascens. I scoped this collection and the spores where towards the high end of C. aeruginosa.
