Notes: The top of this mushroom was blackened and there were holes. I would describe this as an unusual shape: sac like, no gills, no discernible cap, with a central winged stem (see pics). I have no idea what it is. It was growing right beside a hardwood log, too old to determine what type of log, but area had been lumbered for oak species.
