When: 2008-06-23
Collection location: Stampede Pass, Kittitas Co., Washington, USA [Click for map]
Who: Joshua Birkebak (Shua)
Herbarium specimen available

Notes: Well… this is probably one of a large complex of lyophylli but until I can get into the lab I think montanum is the best name for now… Many of them grew right out of the melting snow…

Summary: Clitocybe glacialis

According to the “The Genus Clitocybe of California”, D. Gregory, Lyophyllum montanum is the equivalent of Clitocybe glacialis, although deprecated.

Although you can check for the sideriphilous granules and get back to us on that. I don’t think anyone has done that for the site yet.
