the reduction of FB material to lamellae and little else is rather diagnostic for C. quitensis. This has enough pileus to suggest that it’s something else.

But I really appreciate you going through 75 pages of MO activity to try to help ID this mushroom. When I saw it I knew it was something I had never seen before, though I can say that about half the mushrooms I saw in Veracruz. I remember where the log this grew on was and I’ll definitely spend a few days here next year. This place is really cool – lots of plant and mushroom diversity, and it is right across the street from where Gaston Guzman works.

Specimen rotted before I could scope it because we found a large number of interesting collections the next day. I will attempt to recollect next year.

of Crepidotus quitensis (http://www.mycokey.com/Ecuador/album/slides/TL-8213.html), though with considerably more pilus and stipe. I remember coming across photos of a tiny, tropical, resupinate Russulaceae as well. I’ll try to dig up more info.
