Summary: Gyms

I was wondering the same thing, i know they are an active species of gymnopilus given the bluing reaction on the old ones i found there. Also the bitter taste and scaly cap are common features of this species. Gymnopilus luteofolius is the only species that fits the description i think. Oh yeah the spore print was the right color for this genus.

Summary: .

Interesting, what we in California refer to as G. luteofolius is MUCH larger than the ones pictured here! The colour is consistent, but I wonder if they are the same species.
