Notes: on bark of dead branch Alnus Rubra
this is an area of relatively low air quality (near interstate highway and agriculture)
Jason Hollinger suggested C. griffithii – thanks! Although the morphology really fit, initially this seemed problematic because the 1st section was polarization negative, the spores were somewhat large (17 × 4) and most were 2- and 3-septate. Later sections fit C. griffithii well. (see notes with images)
Never could see a K reaction.
