Notes: Identified by sight. Found under a live oak near the children’s maze. There was another older specimen that had begun to rot that I left.

Recognized by sight: Habitat (near live oak), color and stature all typical for California material. Based on chemical features: Some of the DNA has been sequenced at Anne Pringle’s lab and verfied as A. phalloides.
