The shellac-portion of the sporocarp is ALWAYS upper-most in those species. I know of no species where that is flipped 180 degrees.

The sporocarp in the photo 4 is the same of photo 6. And the photo 5 is the same of 1 and 2. ¿ Any ganoderma species grows upside-down likes this..?

although it does not look like the other sporocarps. Assuming photo 5 is representative of all photos, then specimen is Ganoderma IMO.

New photos, likes ganodermataceae…the sporocarp grows as a fan from a small cilindrical base, attached to wood.

The 4th photo is different sporocarp of the photo 1, all the photos was taken in the same dead trunk tree. Is true, in one side on the trunk the sporocarps looks different, but in some area found of two kinds mixed.

If true, sporocarps could be growing from mostly heartwood area instead of more typical cambium layer. Laetiporus is a common heartwood degrader in my area.

I’d also appreciate seeing if any of the sporocarps have expanded from your first observation. Laetiporus can for massive shelves, often 50cm or more across. If the sporocarps now are starting to show lateral (horizontal) expansion, would almost guarantee Laetiporus in my opinion.

would help me form an opinion. I believe the 4th photo is actually the white, upper sporocarp in photo 1. Does not look the same as the other sporocarps to my eye. Any idea what the fungi are growing on? Looks to be a hardwood of some kind, but I’m pretty bad about guessing Panamanian tree species.

You are right,sorry, .. may be some additional photos can help, or a section cut sporocarp.? Im going to take more photos.

2nd photo is of the middle sporocarp in the first photo, rotated 90 degrees. In first photo, appears yellowish. In second photo, appears buff-colored. So Damon’s comment about it growing from a leaf or twig is slightly misleading. Looks to be engulfing a leaf or twig, but growing out of that crack in the wood. Orientation of the photo has changed, so looks to be a different sporocarp.

So if middle photo sporocarp is 5-6cm across, then the snag the sporocarps are growing from must be 15-20cm wide at least. Right?

The second photo, the rounded one fungi, has 5 – 6 cm. diameter. In the first photo, the rounded yellowish fungi , 4 – 5 cm. diameter

One, with yellowish tint arrising from cracks in standing wood appears to be Laetiporus, at least to my eye.

The other, a mostly whitish with buff-colored exterior, smaller in size, may well be a Poria or similar Polyporales.

If Laetiporus, specimens quite young and not fully formed.

It would be helpful if we had an approximation of size, Eduardo.

looks like it is enveloping a leaf and other substances , which would not be typical for Laetiporus
