Сводка: Hm, I see now

I surely found Kavinia there but these photos are clearly not. But I cannot find shots of Kavinia. A mystery to me but thanks for correction.
I do not know which species of poroid fungus this is too. No notes about such one.
Sorry.

keep your Panasonic DMC-FX10, since it’s quite capable of plenty compelling macro on its own:

Сводка: lightweight and cheap

without knowing what you’re currently shooting with, these are my suggestions:

option one: http://campl.us/posts/iPhone-4S-Extreme-Closeups

option two: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Close-up_filter (some P&Ss have the threading to accept these)

option three: Pentax WG-2 (+/- GPS). has a “microscope mode” which allows for a minimum focus distance of 1cm with LED ring lighting.

option three and a half: any number of other mid- to high-range P&Ss on the market which take anywhere from good to superb macro images of varying ranges of magnification (ie: Canon Powershot G9, Nikon Coolpix P90, etc. see http://www.flickr.com/search/?w=11248435@N04&q=macro for examples. then there’s the Ecuador section of MycoKey, all shot with a Nikon Coolpix 995 and Coolpix 8700). 4/3rds cameras have also come down in price a ton since their inaugural days. Buy a used Olympus PEN or Lumix G series body, mount the ~$200 Zuiko 35mm f/3.5 at the end of it (4/3 to m4/3 adapter required), and you have a very, very sharp 1:1 setup for under $500.

Сводка: Yes,

but priorities are different.
I just have a compact camera right now. When I did analog photographing I had a good Nikon with titanium coating that weighed a lot. That’s why I refuse to carry a heavy weight with me again. But I have to admit that I am not really content with the pics anymore.

Сводка: lies!

you’ll spend more on groceries in 48 hours than it would cost to modify whatever equipment you already have to be able to shoot at magnifications greater than this. i can help you. start with extension tubes, which you can make yourself (google DIY extension tube or similar queries) if you can’t afford a set, and a set will only run you $100, more or less.

Сводка: I so wish

you would start shooting these close-up. not just because it would make these already precious observations of never-observed taxa considerably more valuable, but because it would allow me to actually determine which of these are good candidates for this list: http://mushroomobserver.org/species_list/show_species_list/230. in a good many of your resupinate obs, the hymenium is too far away or blurry to make out.

I seem to remember making a similar appeal before. whatever could possibly persuade you to more thoroughly document your obvious penchant (and talent) for corticioid and resupinate fungi?
