Summary: problem

Galerina

http://www.mushroomsfmrc.com/gpage11.html

http://www.mushroomsfmrc.com/...

my galerina finds

http://mushroomobserver.org/54511?q=DSex

ovoid

http://files.shroomery.org/...

the bottom ones are ovoid , the ovoids are just slightly darker which you can kinda see in the microscope pictures but still in any case a newbie just shouldnt really be messing around with them.

they key factor is the real bluing galerina do get dark tho its risky but i dont think their stems are hollow in the same way and structure of stem as well as feel of cap

the biggest difference is smell
http://en.wikipedia.org/...

btw i did leave it blank i would hope someone wouldnt go hunting for an unidentified mushroom in hopes that it was something a person that didnt find it suspected it to be

Summary: ?

I wouldn’t think it would be very funny if some newbie saw that and said “I saw those on an old log outback” and then went out and ate some Galerina sp.

I am not trying to be rude, please don’t think that, just saying you never know who’s reading this site and about to go hunt.

Summary: Spore Print?

Did you get a spore print at all?

More details will help. I can think of three genera that look like these do…Galerina, Psathyrella, and Psilocybe

I agree with Alan they do look a lot like ovoids, but some mushrooms lookalike so get spore prints and maybe some macro shots of the gills, stem, anything you think might be important to helping nail down an ID.
