Richard it is true that P. longistriatus has been traditionally included in sect. Celluloderma by some authors but molecular data have clearly placed this species in sect. Hispidoderma (with P. plautus, P. umbrosus, P. leoninus, etc…)
The problem is that the pileipellis structure is somewhat misleading since there are a few short clavate elements at the base of the long upright elements.
