Ok regardless of substrait I still feel it could be a mould.

I added another picture that I forgot about. It isn’t much better, but I think you can see the substrate looks more leaf like. I’m pretty sure that’s what they were growing on, but I’ll have to check more closely next time I see it.

This looks to be mould (Maybe Penicillium vulpinum) growing on the remains of some insect.

I haven’t seen a green slime mold either, but I have no clue what it is. Are you saying it’s too small to be a slime mold?

Now that I think about it, they did not have the usual “spread out” behavior of the few slime molds I’ve found. These green ones were growing on single leaves. I found several others (but not any good pics) by digging into the leaves and looking for green. They were tiny, but still fairly easy to spot against the rest of the black and decaying debris.

Have not seen green slime molds – also fruit body size is inconsistent
