Comment on Psilocybe weilii Guzmán, Stamets & F. Tapia (7451)

Created: 2008-05-06 12:45:55

Summary: handsome mushroom, with an interesting history

Comment:

Stamets’ “Psilocybes of the World” claims that the first report of this mushroom from Georgia was after Hurricane Opal swept through in ‘95; it is the first blue-staining lignicolous Psilocybe reported from the red clay soils of Georgia. It was named in honor of Andrew Weil.
