Notes: Periyar Wildlife Sanctuary is a tiger reserve in Kerala, India. Visitors and locals alike cannot enter the reserve without signing a log and waiver, and must be accompanied by a tribal guide. In addition to tigers, elephants, deer, boar, buffalo, and over 160 species of butterfly, the reserve is also home to pythons, cobras, and king cobras, as well as a plethora of less dangerous snakes and amhpibians.
