In “The Genus Tricholoma” Christensen, Heilmann-Clausen (2013), it is said “We have studied over a hundred collections representing T. terreum ss. lato, and have observed a gradual transition from pale grey to almost black forms, and a lack of correlation between cap colours, pileipellis structure and the presence of a veil.” Therefore they conclude that both T. myomyces and T. gausapatum are synonyms of T. terreum. Additionally they say that ITS sequence data does not contradict that conclusion.

Index/Species Fungorum has flipped their opinion, but I don’t know why. They now consider Tricholoma terreum to be the “current name”.

Based on Index Fungorum. I also remember that Chris Shanks in her masters thesis at SFSU rejected T. terreum at least for California material.
