Description générale: Pileus: Glabrous except some times at the margin with white veil fragments, but the context often splitting into scales; not viscid. Colour dark purple to purple-red when young, fading to light purple-pink when wet. Hygrophanous, fading to drab, pallid pink-tan. Lamelle: Pink when young, turning brown to dark brown with a reddish tinge, and white fimbriate- the gill edge nearest where the lamelle meet the stipe are dusted white. Adnate attachment. Stipe: Hollow, brown-pink or pale pink, often minutely fibrillose near the base, turning abruptly canescent snow white at the apex where the gills meet. Spores: 12-15 × 6-7.5µm, smooth, elliptic to suboblong, with apical germ pore. Habitat: Lignicolous or terrestrial, preferring wood chips where it some times fruits in great numbers, but also from soil or sandy dirt, often in cespitose clusters, or gregarious.
