Amanita albocreata is not known to have a ring around the stipe…at least in my research. It is known to have a collar at transition between the stipe and bulb.

I have not found any evidence of this species growing in the U.S., but is known to grow in parts of Canada. I have found several mushrooms that I believe are Amanita albocreata in north ga, but have not had a positive id as of yet.

Amanita phalloides…have the ring around stipe. I have found these in north ga.
