About Agaricaceae Chevall.
When: 2008-11-14
Collection location: Larch Mountain, Multnomah Co., Oregon, USA [Click for map]
Who: Daniel B. Wheeler (Tuberale)

Notes: Observed on a well-rotted large log, possibly a Western red cedar, covered with lichens and mosses. The mushrooms were on the cut-end of the log, which was becoming pitted and had several species of fungi growing on it. Cap just over 1 inch in width, off-white with some yellow tones; gills nearly concolorous with cap, but slightly grayish-tint; stipe with small white fibrils that discolor slightly yellowish when scraped, about same length as cap width, narrowest at attachment to substrate (3mm) and broadening slight to cap attachment (4-5mm).
